About Us
Wetheral Bowling Club plays regularly in a number of local leagues as well as friendly fixtures against local clubs in the Cumbria area.
Fixtures against touring teams are also a regular feature. Club nights are held every Tuesday and Friday, play starting at 6.30pm. Members have access to the green anytime after 10.30am except when matches are being played . The club also has internal competitions running throughout the season.
Coffee mornings are held on the first Saturday in every month starting at 10.00am. During the winter there are monthly social events to which all are welcome.
We are represented in three Cumbrian leagues.
- Stanley Bragg League. Mondays 2.00pm
- Carliol League, Thursdays 7.00pm
- Carliol League Over 60's. Fridays 2.00pm
Our Ladies are represented in the Cumbria League - Wednesdays 2.00pm
We also play in the Eden Valley Mixed Triples League - Tuesdays 2.00pm
In the 2024 season we achieved the following league positions:
Eden Valley Mixed Triples: Winners of Division 2, promoted to Division 1
Stanley Bragg League: 9th
Carliol League:
Carliol League over 60's: 2nd place
We also offer the opportunity to play short mat bowls in the closed season. Sessions are held on Tuesdays at 2pm, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm. There is an additional membership fee of £10 for short mat bowls.
On Thursday evenings we play in the North Cumbria Short Mat Bowls League.
